STATEMENT FROM THE PARTNERS

In April 2016, Westcourt had its first inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we were delighted to be rated as “outstanding”, the first surgery in Coastal West Sussex to achieve this standard.

Due to a change in the CQC’s inspection regime, and the recognised difficulties for some practices in our area, we received another inspection in May 2018, much earlier than we had expected as the maximum interval between inspections for an outstanding practice is five years.

This latest inspection was far tougher than we’d experienced previously and incorporated the latest stringent criteria introduced by the CQC to drive up standards and promote improvement. This recent inspection rated the practice as “good” in all areas. Whilst we are disappointed to not retain the outstanding indicator we had strived for, we appreciate that the report acknowledges an area of outstanding practice and does not list any areas that require any level of improvement or any negatives regarding the surgery practices. In our opinion, this clearly indicates the practice had maintained the standards that had previously been awarded with the “outstanding” rating, and our high-level of patient care had been sustained.

Welcome to Westcourt Medical Centre

surgeryphoto-small.jpgWestcourt Medical Centre in Rustington is a purpose built healthcare centre which opened in February 1986 and doubled in size in the year 2000.  It underwent a further extension of 5 clinical rooms and a training/conference room, completed in February 2013. The building was designed to reflect a homely but efficient atmosphere.

Our aim at Westcourt is for our staff to be friendly, helpful and our medical personnel to offer the best possible care. It is a team approach with members supporting and referring to each other in their attempt to do the best for their patients.

At Westcourt Medical Centre we encourage patients to take an active interest in their own wellbeing.

Our web site contains a comprehensive range of information on the medical centre, our clinics, services and links to a number of health advice pages and external health web sites. We hope you find it a useful addition to our range of healthcare services.

All telephone calls to and from the surgery are recorded, for training and quality purposes.

Access & Parking

Westcourt Medical Centre is able to accommodate wheelchairs with main access through electric doors. There is a lift to the first floor and doorways to toilets are built to standards suitable for wheelchairs. We also have a disabled toilet and baby changing facilities which are on the ground floor.

Westcourt Medical Centre is served directly by the 700 bus service which stops directly outside the surgery. Information on local taxi services can be obtained from reception.

Parking is very limited so please consider others when parking or navigating around the car park, and opt to choose alternative parking if you are able, or if the car park is full.

Owners park entirely at their own risk; Westcourt Medical centre is not liable for any loss or damage that may occur whilst parked on the premises.

Patient parking is strictly prohibited on any double-yellow lines, and in the staff bays at the side & rear of the building.

Unless you hold a Blue Badge, please do not park in the disabled parking bays, designated with a wheelchair symbol.
